INTRODUCTION
Participating in collegiate athletics at Millersville University is an honor and a privelage for all student-athletes. Millersville student-athletes are held in the highest regard and are seen as role models in the local and regional community. As a leader, each student-athlete has the responsibilty to portray their team, the University, and themselves in a positive manner at all times.
Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, and other social media sites continue to gain popularity and are utilized by the majority of student-athletes at Millersville in one form or another.
Student-athletes should be aware and understand that third parties, including the media, faculty, future employers, NCAA administrators and others, can easily access your social media sites/profiles and view all personal information. This includes all pictures, videos, posts, comments, posters, etc. Innapropriate material found by third parties affects the perception of the student-athlete, the team they play for, the athletic department, and Millersville University. This can also be detrimental to a student-athlete's future employment options, whether in a profesional sports setting or in another industry.
Millersville student-athletes should always be cautious and respectful when using social media sites.
