#LaxFamily, #PrayforSetonHill
March 16, 2013
As many of you know, our game versus Seton Hill today has been cancelled. We learned at breakfast that the Griffins women's lacrosse team was involved in a horrific bus accident en route to Millersville around 9 a.m. I ask that you please keep the Seton Hill women's lacrosse team and their families in your thoughts and prayers as they stay strong through this incredibly difficult time.
And please, hug your loved ones today and remind them that you love them.

Strong Starts
March 8, 2013
It's been two years since Millersville has had the opportunity to open a season on Chyrst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium. As a team, we knew we wanted to come out with a ferocious intensity against Wilmington this past Tuesday. Setting the pace from the opening draw, the team battled to an 18-5 victory over the visiting Wildcats. The box score can be found here.
For us, possession was the name of the game. We wanted to be careful with that "gold" in our sticks and avoid a shoot-out like we had last year versus Wilmington. The strategy worked well in our favor, as the final score tells. The attack took the time to break down the Wildcat defense with some swift cutting and quick passes while the defense forced Wilmington to low-angle shots and poor decision making.
There are always little things, however, that we can improve on as a team. Luckily for us, our first Saturday game gives us the opportunity to take risks, make mistakes, and give it all we have against a new and unfamiliar opponent.

Start of Another Season
March 5, 2013
Welcome back to another season with Millersville Lacrosse! Since the first day we stepped on to the turf back on September, the team has worked incredibly hard to get to today, our home opener versus Wilmington University. All of the sprints, three minute wall ball challenges, 6 a.m. practices, and Hutch workouts have been adding up to this. We have something to prove to not only our family, friends, and opponents, but to ourselves as well. It's time for a new era in Millersville Lacrosse.
I was watching a documentary in a drama class the other night. The film was following the preparation for the 2008 revival of the Broadway hit A Chorus Line. The father of one of the dancers was a former dancer himself but had to give his passion up in his mid-forties due to knee damage. One thing he said stuck with me even after class was dismissed: "Dance like every night is opening night, but also closing night. You never know when it'll end."
The quote can easily be applied to athletics. Play like every game is your first, but also your last. Play with passion, with a chip on your shoulder, and like you've been there before. Just don't hold anything back.
Let's go Ville!
