Highlights

Lancaster, Pa. - It was an exciting ending to the opening day of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional in Lancaster. East Stroudsburg's Jake Griesemer doubled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th to break a 5-5 tie with Seton Hill. The 6-5 lead stood for the Warriors, who advanced to take on Mercyhurst in the second round.

East Stroudsburg (26-18) had the NCBWA and Daktronics Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Year Jeremy Gigliotti on the mound, and it looked to be on its way to an easy victory after scoring two runs in the first.

Seton Hill (33-14), however, struck back with one in the bottom of the inning, and pushed across for runs on four hits in the third to take a 5-3 lead. Seton Hill scored more runs off of Gigliotti in the one inning than he had allowed in the entire season.

ESU chipped away, scoring one run in the eighth and Eric Boyer's RBI single in the ninth sent the game into extra innings. The game stood tied until Griesemer's hit scored Ryan Guarino in the 11th. Keenan Stare closed the game with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Gigliotti went nine innings but allowed five runs on nine hits and three walks. Ryan Beck (1-5) picked up the win. Seton Hill starter Rick Raraigh went 7.1 in a new decision, and Jon Murphy (4-2) took the loss after allowing one run in two innings.

Seton Hill now faces top-seeded Millersville Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in an elimination game.
