Women's Basketball All-75th Season Team
The 2009-10 season marks the 75th season of women's basketball at Millersville University. To commemorate the occasion, a committee of former and current coaches compiled a list of the greatest players in school history. These players were recognized in a ceremony prior to the Marauders' game on Nov. 21, 2009.

Quick and explosive guard that stood out during Marge Trout’s first seasons at Millersville.
• Ellen Beaver Wolpert ’67
Described by Coach Trout as “a calm, level-headed player.”
• Kathy Schwebel Coker ’69
Provided a spark off the bench for some of the best teams in 60’s.
• Marie Skvoretz Vinup ’70
A dominant guard that handled the ball with speed and agility.
• Linda Meade Loomis ’71
Member of the Millersville Athletic Hall of Fame. Displayed a soft shooting touch as a guard on a championship team.
• Carol Feiler Rush ’71
Athletic and quick player who always went after the ball.
• Terry Gunder Dugan ’71
Prolific scorer whose 48 points in a game still stands as a
Millersville record.
• Linda Kreiser ’75
One of the outstanding all-around athletes in school history was versatile on the basketball court as well. Named to inaugural MU Athletic Hall of Fame class.
• Beverly Jackson Walker ’75
Lightning quick and stellar defender.
• Kathy Hogarth Charles ’75
Incredible defensive force who stopped offensive players in their tracks.
• Helen Balasavge Long ’78
Dependable on both offense and defense and possessed the ability to see the action on the whole court.
• Deb Hudson Shepps ’79
Great scoring ability. Agile and quick to the hoop.
• Donna Eshleman ’82
Ability to score in bunches, sinking 166 buckets as a senior, and an intense, determined defender.
• Darlene Newman ’83
Inside presence for some of the best teams in school history.
Finished career with 1,305 points and ranks second in field goals made with 587.
• Amy Gipprich ’84
Two-time All-PSAC selection and MU Athletic Hall of Fame inductee finished her career with 1,299 points.
• Shelly Bowie Bentz ’85
Millersville’s first PSAC Player of the Year and a hall of famer. Intimidating defender that set record for blocked shots in a career and ranks second all-time with 941 career rebounds.
• Jeni North Rathman ’86
Stellar defender was named the team’s defensive player of the year three times. Displayed court vision by totaling 386 career assists and piloting team to a PSAC Championship in 1986.
• Sue Heckler ’87
Sank nearly 50 percent of her career field goals and was also a capable rebounder, averaging 6.0 for her career.
• Peg Kauffman ’87
Two-time All-American and MU Athletic Hall of Fame
inductee set record for career field goals made. Totaled 1,389 points and ranks third all-time in steals and sixth in assists.
• Jill Zuber Bossler ’88
Completed career at Millersville with 302 assists. Named
All-PSAC East First Team and team MVP in 1988.
• Karen Armold Granzow ’89
1989 PSAC East Player of the Year set all-time records for points in a season, single-season scoring average, free throws made, free throw percentage and ranks in career top 10 in rebounds and assists.
• Kathy Howell ’90
Two-time All-PSAC East pick, team’s offensive player of the year in 1988 and team MVP in 1990. Totaled 523 rebounds in her career.
• Mary McCleery ’91
One of the first 3-point shooting specialists, sinking 82 from 1986-90. Hit better than 40-percent of 3-point attempts as a junior and senior.
• Tina Klotzbeecher Thomas ’91
All-PSAC East selection and voted team’s best defensive player and team MVP in 1991. Finished career at Millersville with 1,012 points and ranks fourth in career rebounds.
• Paula Light ’93
MU’s first three-time All-PSAC honoree won PSAC East Player of the Year in 1993. Set single season and career records for assists and ranks fifth in scoring with 1,318 points.
• Carol Flinchbaugh ’94
Academic All-American and 3-point shooting specialist.
• Kristin Schneider ’94
Named All-PSAC East and the team’s offensive player of the year two times. Ranks second all-time with 148 3-point field goals at 35.3 percent. Totaled 1,044 points and led the team in scoring two years in a row.
• Deb Mohler Cooley ’96
1996 team MVP and two-time offensive player of the year totaled 1,110 points throughout her career and ranks 10th on the all-time assists list.
• Wendy Catherson Peters ’97
Standout defender was was named defensive player of the year twice and led her team in rebounding three times.
• Safiyyah Bashir ’01
Dominating at both ends of the court, ranking ninth on all-time scoring list with 1,266 points, fourth in assists and second in steals. A three-time pick as the team’s defensive player of the year, and three-time PSAC East First Team seleciton was the 2000 PSAC East Athlete of the Year.
• Sara Burcin ’01
Offensive juggernaut that set records for career scoring with 1,543 points, 3-point field goals made and 3-point field goal percentage. Led the team in scoring three years in a row, was a three-time All-PSAC East pick and the PSAC East Rookie of the Year.
• Ashley Hoffman ’01
Two-time All-PSAC East honoree finished career with 1,086 points and ranks in the top 15 in field goals made and rebounds.
• Paula Keller Bamford ’01
Compiled 979 points and currently ranks ninth on all-time rebounds list. Earned All-PSAC East mention and team MVP honors in 2000.
• Nicole Schneider Bomberger ’01
Ranks second all-time in career free throw percentage list at 78.7. Key contributer to two NCAA Tournament teams.
• Jen Smith ’02
Sharpshooter ranks fifth in career 3-point field goals made with 129 and third in free throw percentage. An All-PSAC pick and team MVP in 2002.
• Morgan Banks ’03
Gifted offensive player who ranks 10th in all-time scoring with 1,211 points. The All-PSAC East First Team pick also ranks in the top 20 in rebounds and steals.
• Gema Robles ’03
PSAC East Athlete of the Year and two-time all-conference pick was a defensive star, setting the career record for steals with 420. Also ranks second in career assists and scored 1,132 career points.
• Joni Mertz ’04
An All-PSAC East pick who ranks among the all-time leaders in assists, steals and 3-pointers made.
• Destinne Parker-Stewart ’05
Named All-PSAC East twice as a post player and ranks seventh all-time in rebounds, 16th in steals and 14th in blocked shots.
• Danielle Marshall ’06
Shooter who ranks sixth in career scoring with 1,316 points and sank 108 3-pointers. Named All-PSAC East First Team two times.
• Kristy Garner ’06
Tallied 1,200 points and set the all-time record for rebounds with 1,005. 2005 team MVP and two-time All-PSAC East pick also ranks sixth all-time in steals.
• Jayeneca Bailey ’06
Quick point guard who holds fourth place on career assists list with 457 and ranks fourth for steals with 280. Named All-PSAC East Second Team in 2005.
• Branden Lippy ’07
Long-range specialist ranks fourth in career 3-point field goals made and finished career with 153 assists.
• Ashley Romanoski ’08
Led team in scoring and rebound in the 2006-07 and was named team MVP and All-PSAC East Second Team.
• Gladine St. Julien ’10
Productive post player and two-time All-PSAC East First Team seleciton posted 1,021 career points, 71 blocked shots and 565 rebounds.
