Lock Haven, Pa. -Â The women's soccer team secured their third consecutive victory with a 2-1 win over Lock Haven.
Millersville had trouble finding their rhythm early, and it cost them as Lock Haven struck just eight minutes into the match. The Marauders responded with heavy offensive pressure, peppering the Bald Eagles' keeper with shots but coming up empty.
With four minutes left in the first half, senior Isabel Coy finally broke through, netting an unassisted goal to even the score at 1-1. Millersville carried that momentum into the second half.
Just seven minutes after the break, leading scorer Aubrey Strohecker delivered again, slotting the ball into the lower left corner off a pass from Sara Edwards to give the Marauders the lead. From there, Millersville controlled the pace, outshooting Lock Haven 14-7. Senior goalkeeper Sabrina Zimmerman recorded one save on seven attempts, helping secure the 2-1 victory.
With the win, the Marauders improve to 3-3-1 on the season and return home to Pucillo Field on Saturday, Sept. 27, for a 1 p.m. matchup against Mansfield.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH MATT PROCOPIO
- After going down early, what are your thoughts on how the girls battled back to get the our right win? "Getting a goal before the half was a huge boost. We got a goal early in the half so that helped as well but we had some opportunities we let slip too. I am happy we showed our resilience and fought back to get a win but we need to be sharper and not allow teams opportunities."
- How can the team prevent giving up early goals so they aren't forced to play from behind? "We need to get off to better starts. Our energy was low, execution was poor and we payed the price for a mistake. The solution is simple. Set the tempo and temperature from the start. It's a mentality."
