ABOUT THE GAME

  • Millersville squares off with Bloomsburg on Friday night at 5 p.m. in the PSAC Tournament semifinal.
  • The Marauders enter Friday’s semifinal riding a two-game winning streak, with victories over Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg. Millersville holds a 1-0-1 record against the Huskies this season and will aim to improve that record while advancing to the championship game.

GAME STORYLINES

  • Millersville makes its return to the semifinals after falling short last season with a penalty-kick loss to West Chester. The Marauders will face the nationally ranked Bloomsburg Huskies, who have spent much of the season among the top programs in the country. The last semifinal meeting between the two teams came a decade ago in 2015, when Millersville earned a 1-0 victory over Bloomsburg before falling 2-1 to Slippery Rock in the championship match.
  • Leading the offensive front has been a multitude of Marauders, with Zander Leik setting the pace. Leik returned to the lineup this fall following a season-ending injury the previous year. The junior has scored eight goals and recorded three assists during the regular season, earning a spot on the All-PSAC East First Team. Following him is fellow captain Roy Parkyn, who was also named to the All-PSAC East First Team and enters the semifinal matchup with six goals and three assists. Other Marauders to watch offensively include freshman Brian O’Neill—who has been on a hot streak, scoring four goals in the final two games of the regular season and earning PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors in Weeks 9 and 10—as well as Juan Ortiz Escobar, Matias Schmidt, and Kayden Sowell.
  • On the back line Millersville has Kehmar Green leading the group of Fallou Cisse, Haven Thomas, and Nolan McCarty. Green was named to the All-PSAC East First team for his efforts on defense and Cisse was named to the second team for his efforts as well. The four Marauders have been crucial in limiting the number of shots from opposing team which has helped lead to 10 victories.
  • Gavin Massimi has been the anchor in goal for Millersville this season. The redshirt freshman took a major step forward, recording nine wins throughout the year. Massimi leads the PSAC in saves, ranks second in goals against, and third in shutouts per game. He looks to carry this momentum into the semifinals and help lead Millersville back to the PSAC Championship.
  • Bloomsburg enters the semifinals after defeating Seton Hill in the first round of the PSAC Tournament. Names to look for offensively for the Huskies are Owen Hollobaugh, Sam Blumberger, Jake Pacacha, Caleb Sitler and Connor Fiadino. All have scored two or more goals this season.
  • In goal for the Huskies is sophomore Peter Punchello, who has compiled an 8-2-6 record during the 2025 season. He has recorded 41 saves while allowing only nine goals. Punchello ranks first in the PSAC in goals against average and shutouts and sits second behind Massimi in total saves.
  • The winner of Friday's match will advance to the championship, where they’ll face either West Chester or Gannon on Sunday at 1 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Millersville and Bloomsburg have been rivals since 1975, marking 50 years of matchups. The teams last met two weeks ago, with the Marauders securing a 3-0 victory. Historically, Millersville has dominated the series, winning 40 of the 63 meetings between the programs. Earlier this season, the squads faced off at Bloomsburg, resulting in a 1-1 draw. The Marauders enter the semifinal with momentum, but a key question remains: can they carry it forward against a Bloomsburg team eager for revenge from their last matchup?
