MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — Millersville tennis had four athletes earn recognition on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Teams, with Zach Pernia representing the men's team, and Noelle Htwar, Hui Jen Soo, and Sophie Lanius earning spots on the women's list.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Pernia, the lone Marauder on the men's list, graduated with a major in government, and spent his senior season as 'Ville's No. 2 singles player. Pernia went 9–9 in the second spot in singles play, and a strong 13–6 in the top duo spot in doubles play.
Htwar, an early childhood education major, and Soo, a psychology major, held down the top two spots in the Marauders starting lineup. Htwar led the Marauders to a PSAC East championship while earning recognition as PSAC East Athlete of the Week in the last week of the regular season, capping off a season with records of 10–9 in singles play and 14–11 in doubles. Soo finished the year with an 8–10 record in the second spot of singles play, and a 9–9 record as Htwar's partner in the top seed of doubles play. Lanius is a biology major and was announced as the PSAC Women's Tennis Champion Scholar at the conference tournament this spring. Lanius had a perfect 7–0 singles record against PSAC opponents in the regular season, and a 16–10 record in doubles play.
