Millersville swimming takes seventh place at PSAC Championships

CARLISLE, Pa. - After four days of competition, the Millersville women's swimming team finished in seventh place at the 12-team PSAC Championships.
It is the second season in a row that Millersville has finished seventh, matching its best finish as a program. The Marauders totaled 489 points. West Chester captured the team championship with 1,662 points. IUP finished second with 960.
Millersville's top finisher on Saturday was Leah Eckert, who reached the podium with a seventh-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke. She turned in a time of 2:25.69 in the finals.
Jane McClelland took 10th in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:54.46. Becca Yeager also scored with a 24th-place finish.
Millersville received a 12th-place finish from Jewels Hepner in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.55. Jordan Plempel placed 13th in the 200-yard backstroke with a finals time of 2:08.90.
Over the course of four days, the Marauders produced three top-eight finishes. In addition to Eckert on Saturday, Plempel took fifth in the 400 IM, seventh in the 200 IM. Millersville sent a program record 16 swimmers to the championships. Of those qualifiers, Ilana Jacobson, Leah Miksa and Yeager graduate.
