LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Three members of the Millersville field hockey team earned conference recognition making All-PSAC teams. Caitlin Wassermann headlined the group for the Marauders by making the second team, and Emma Ruley and Morgan Lennon were named to the third team.
This is the first time each player has made an All-PSAC team, with Wassermann and Lennon putting a bow on their careers with the distinction, and Ruley adding it to her resume to cap off her junior season.
Wassermann was a pillar of the Marauders gameplan at all three levels this season, making her presence known on both sides of the ball. The story of Wassermann's season has to start with talking about her defensive saves. She became the first Marauder since 2019 to record multiple defensive saves in the same game, and her five on the season were the most since 2007. The graduate student was the first option off penalty corners to drive Millersville's offense, tallying a goal to go along with six assists. Her shot-pass from the top of the circle was the Marauders best offense at times, as Wassermann had a knack for finding the open stick to redirect her shots in for Millersville goals.
Ruley has continued her upward trajectory through her third season, improving with each season under her belt. The junior has improved offensively each year, setting a career-high in goals (five), points (10), and shots (20). Ruley also notched two game-winning goals in overtime this season, most notably in the last game of the season when she tallied the overtime winner against Mansfield.
Lennon, one of three co-captains on the team this year, stepped into a more prominent role in her final season as a Marauder. One of the drivers of the Marauders transition game, Lennon made all across the field with and without the ball on her stick. As one of the main defenders on penalty corners, Lennon helped lead the charge for one of the conference's best units in that area. Additionally, finished with a goal and career-high four assists on the season, as well as nearly doubling her previous career-high in shots with 17.
This is the second-straight season Millersville has had three Marauders make All-PSAC teams. 'Ville has not had fewer than three All-Conference honorees since 2007.
