SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Millersville women's soccer nearly upset undefeated conference rival Shepherd but fell short of the late equalizer, 2-1.

Late in the second half, the Rams generated a corner kick opportunity. This corner kick caused a commotion in the box, and the Rams were awarded a penalty kick. Sarah Peternel stepped up for Shepherd and converted the game-winning goal.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH MATT PROCOPIO
- Key takeaways: "I thought we played well aside from the first 5 or so minutes. In the second half we were much improved. Need to see the PK call back but it seems a bit harsh to lose on that."
- The team typically generates more corners than your opponents, what do you need to do to capitalize on them: "Wasn't aware of that but we do need to see if we can convert one of those. We will work on them more in training before our next game. "
- How to prepare against your match with Lock Haven: "We rest and recover this weekend due to our break but we will work on the necessary areas over the next few days in order to be prepared."
