GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Keegan Soltis' bases-loaded, walk-off base on balls in the 11th inning capped a wild 9-8 win for Millersville over Pitt-Johnstown Saturday afternoon.
The Marauders rallied from a 6-0 deficit, overcame losing the lead in the ninth and survived three Pitt-Johnstown homers and three of their own errors.
Sam Morris went 4-for-5, hitting a game-tying home run in the seventh inning, leading a Millersville lineup that piled up 17 hits.
Six Marauders had at least two hits.
Bren Taylor followed Friday's 5-for-5 outing with a 3-for-6 performance.
Thomas Caufield went 3-for-4 with two walks. Soltis reached base five times with two hits and three walks.
Chase Simmons scored a team-high three runs, had two hits and walked three times. Simmons' home run in the bottom of the eighth gave the Marauders a lead and a run they would need.
"I'm proud of how we played," said Millersville head coach
Jon Shehan. "We didn't have a good start and kicked it around. Some weird stuff happened too. But the team just continues to find ways to win."
Pitt-Johnstown tied the game in the top of the ninth with a solo homer from Evan Beach. In the 11th, Pitt-Johnstown two runners on with a single and a Millersville error, but the reliever
Evan Rishell managed to escape.
Jimmy Losh started the 11th with a walk, and Taylor and Caufield followed with back-to-back singles to load the bases. Soltis then drew the walk off of reliever Noah Zadroga.
Rishell, the fourth Millersville pitcher of the game, earned the win after tossing five innings and allowing just one run on two hits while striking out seven.
"Evan was outstanding," said Shehan.
