WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Millersville women's soccer fell 5-2 in their last road game to West Chester.
The Marauders came out with a high press at the beginning. Following this pressure, an early goal was scored by Taylor Whitmer from beyond the 18-yard box, courtesy of Bailey Hunt, in the 12th minute of play. The Golden Rams quickly responded with the equalizer four minutes later with a goal coming from Jacqueline Hug, assisted by Victoria Pungello. In the 22nd minute of play, the Golden Rams took a 2-1 lead with a goal from Julia Raybold, and the assist from Faith Matter.
The Golden Rams started the second half with a quick goal in the 48th minute of play, scored by Pungello with the assist from Hug. West Chester put the game out of reach in the 58th minute of play as Matter netted a goal with the assist from Hug to have the Golden Rams go up 4-1. In the 62nd minute of play, Olivia Conroy added another goal on the scoreboard for the Golden Rams. The Marauders still gave a fight til the end, found the back of the net late in the second half. In the 82nd minute of play, Karsyn Kondracki scored for the Marauders off a corner kick taken by Caroline Wood. Despite their valiant efforts, the Marauders could not catch up as the final of the match was 5-2.
The Marauders travel back home to play their last game of the season against Lock Haven on Friday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.
