SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The Millersville Marauders surrendered two late goals in the second half to the Shepherd Rams and dropped the PSAC East match, 2-0.
Both teams displayed strong intent from the beginning to take the early lead. In the first half, the teams were evenly matched with Millersville tallying five shots, three saves, and one corner kick. While Shepherd recorded five shots, two saves and two corner kicks.
In the 67th minute of play, Shepherd struck first. Sara Hohn played the ball into the feet of Josie Beezel who placed the ball in the back of the net to put the Rams on the board, 1-0. To seal the deal in the 80th minute, Annabell Wunderlinch played the ball forward to Beezel who netted her second goal of the match. The Marauders fought hard but remained scoreless.
The Marauders now stand at 4-6-3 overall, and 4-6-2 in the PSAC East. In PSAC East standings, the Marauders are in fifth place. They travel on the road again to play East Stroudsburg on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.Â
