MILLERSVILLE, PA - The Millersville women's soccer team pushed seventh-ranked and undefeated Kutztown to the limit Wednesday at Pucillo Field but fell 1-0 after a goal scored in the 65th minute.
Marauders defended their home turf well in the first half of play. While they did not tally a shot, they did generate three offensive chances off of corner kicks. The defense was a brick wall as they held Kutztown scoreless on five shots. Millersville keeper Bella Fiorenza helped keep the slate clean for the Marauders, coming up with three crucial saves to keep the match scoreless for the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, the Marauders initiated an attack with three early shots. However, the Golden Bears managed to break through off a corner kick. Melissa Ulrich provided the service and found Bridget Curtis who placed the ball in the back of the net. The Golden Bears held the lead remainder of the game and edged the 1-0 win over the Marauders.

- Fiorenza finished with four saves. Millersville totaled four shots in the game but could not challenge Kutztown keeper Cassandra Baker. Kutztown finished with seven shots.
- Marauders had five corners compared to Kutztown's eight corners.
- The Golden Bears entered the match averaging 15.7 shots per game, and the Marauders kept them to seven shots.
GAME NOTES
- Kutztown improved to 9-0-3 overall and 8-0-2 in the PSAC East while Millersville slipped to 4-4-3 (4-4-2) and dropped to fifth in the East standings.
- The Marauders fall to 11-23-6 in the all-time series with Kutztown.
