Women's soccer falls to Shepherd on the road

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. – The Millersville women's soccer team (0-3, 0-2 PSAC East) fell on the road Saturday afternoon to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East foe, Shepherd by a score of 2-0. (2-1-1 (1-1 PSAC East).

The Rams used two early goals that came less than two minutes apart to send the Marauders home with their third loss of the season. Sara Hohn started the scoring off with a goal at the 11:14 mark that would prove to be the game-winning score. Delaney Bitter followed with a goal at the 12:57 mark to give the Rams their two-goal victory.

Despite the result, Millersville outshot Shepherd 24-10 and 10-6 on-goal. Four Marauders sent four or more shots towards the Shepherd net and eight Marauders accounted for at least one shot. 'Ville also had a fair share of corner opportunities, holding the edge 6-1 over Shepherd.

The Marauders will look to continue finding those chances Wednesday night at Shippensburg where they hope to bounce back.

• Thoughts on the loss: "Similar to [Wednesday] we had two poor moments and paid for them. We had every opportunity to win the game and did not do so, as we could not convert our chances."
• On bouncing back: "We must find a way to bounce back from things. It is as simple as that. Test of everyone's resilience."

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Rachel Leisher led the Marauders in shots with 6. She was followed by Aalivia Wainwright and Paulina Jordan, who each recorded five.
• Shepherd keeper, Faith Leisinger recorded 12 saves in the match.
• Reagan Kolinski recorded four saves and allowed two goals in the loss, she now sits at 0-3 this season.
 
NOTES
• Karsyn Kondracki was handed two yellow cards, which upgraded to a red at the 86'.
• Morgan Winchock was issued the only other Marauder caution in the 48'.

Millersville will head to Shippensburg, Pa. on Wednesday, Sept. 7 to continue PSAC East play with a match against the Shippensburg Raiders. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. on the PSAC Digital Network.
