WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Millersville men's tennis team opened its dual schedule on Wednesday against the University of the District of Columbia and came home with a 5-2 victory.
The Marauders were aided by forfeits at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, but they still had plenty of head-to-head victories to secure the win. The Marauders swept doubles, getting victories from
Dylan Tull and Frank in the No. 1 spot and
Shaurya Piplani and
Lino Morin in the No. 2 spot.
Millersville also took three of the five contested singles matches. Yanni picked up a 6-3, 7-6 (7-0) win at No. 2 singles over Antonio Durrall, and Piplani and
Jasper de Koning won easily in straight sets.
Millersville is now 5-0 all-time against UDC. It is the second road win at UDC in the last three years.
The Marauders compete at the PSAC Individual Championships from Oct. 1-3. Yanni contributed to a PSAC Doubles Championship in 2021.
