FROSTBURG, Md. - The busy week for the Millersville men's tennis team continued Friday on the road, and the Marauders rolled past host Frostburg State, 6-1.
Millersville (9-6) won for the sixth time in the last seven duals.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• For the first time all season, Millersville changed up its top two doubles teams.
Carlos Martinez-Lucas and
Frank Yanni won a PSAC Doubles Championship together in the fall and owned a 19-3 record, but on Friday, Martinez-Lucas paired with
Dylan Tull, and Yanni teamed with
Lino Morin in the No. 2 slot. Tull has played with five different doubles partners this season and owns a 14-7 record. The teams won 6-2 and 6-3 respectively.
Santiago Ramos and
Zach Pernia improved to 8-3 with a 6-4 win.
• Millersville won five of six singles matches, with only Frostburg State's Desire Johnson picking up a win at No. 2 singles for the Bobcats. All five Millersville wins were decided in straight sets. Tull (16-6) boosted his team-leading win total and Martinez-Lucas improved to 15-7. Combining singles and doubles, Martinez-Lucas has 95 career victories.
