MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Millersville men's tennis team improved to 3-0 at home and lifted its record back to .500 on the season with a 5-2 win over visiting Salem Wednesday at McComsey Tennis Courts.
Millersville improved to 5-5 with the win while Salem continues to search for its first win, falling to 0-9. Millersville has won two of three matches in the series with Salem, which dates to 2019.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• Millersville swept doubles for the match's first point and did so in convincing fashion as Salem took just two games in the three matches.
Carlos Martinez-Lucas and
Frank Yanni boosted their record to an impressive 15-3 with a 6-0 win in the No. 1 spot.
Dylan Tull and
Lino Morin scored a 6-1 win in the No. 2 spot, and
Santiago Ramos and
Zach Pernia won No. 1 in the No. 3 flight.
• Martinez-Lucas (No. 1) and
Dylan Tull (No. 3) both won their singles matches for their team-leading 12th wins of the season.
Jasper de Koning played in the No. 4 flight for the first time as a Marauder and won by a 6-2, 6-1 score.
Ting-Yu Yen stepped into the lineup for just the second time since September and picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win.
