Women's soccer draws with Shippensburg

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Millersville women's soccer team ended its match against Shippensburg in a 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon after holding a two-goal lead in the first half of play. The Raiders' eventual game-tying goal came with less than three minutes remaining in regulation.

Millersville started the match off strong, finding an offensive rhythm that they've lacked throughout the season. The first score came just five minutes in as Morgan Winchock sent a pass towards the Raider goal that split three defenders and found Aalivia Wainwright with only the keeper to beat. Wainwright used one touch before firing a shot into the right side of Shippensburg's net to give 'Ville a 1-0 advantage.

The Marauders would extend their lead to two goals roughly 30 minutes later when Palina Jordan tracked down a loose ball in the Raider box and scored.

Shippensburg started to mount its comeback with less than a minute remaining in the first half as Kaitlyn DiCandilo found Makayla Agosto for a score at the 44:17 mark.

The Raiders' equalizer came towards the end of an almost scoreless second half as Agosto scored her second goal of the afternoon at the 87:19 mark to force a draw -- the Marauders' fifth this season.
