Fans pick Millersville wrestling's All-75th Season Team

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Millersville wrestling fans cast more than 400 ballots and selected 10 alums from an initial group of 27 to be recognized as members of the All-75th Season Team. The members of the team include Shane Ruhnke '19, Shane Smith '12, Jarrett Hostetter '12, Curtis Yeager '05, Tom Barley '93, Randy March '82, Fran Presley '79, Andy Zook '78, Ernest Guyll '76, and Rich Zinck '75.

The selected 10 wrestlers include four NCAA champions, multiple-time national qualifiers, the program's all-time wins leader, and the program's all-time pins leader. Barley finished first in the voting with 218, and Zook followed with 198 votes.

The All-75th Season Team
Barley was a three-time NCAA Division I qualifier from 1991-93, winning the East Region championship and 108 matches while becoming Millersville's only Division I All-American with an eighth-place finish in 1993. His 39 wins in 1990-91 set a program record. Barley was a 2004 Millersville Athletics Hall of Fame inductee. 

Zook is Millersville's only four-time All-American and won three PSAC titles from 1975-78. He won an NCAA Division III championship in 1977. Zook was inducted into the Millersville Athletics Hall of Fame in 1998. 

Zinck placed fourth at the NCAA Championships in 1974 and sixth in 1975 to become a two-time All-American. Zinck tallied a 58-18 record in his career and was also an outstanding student, winning Millersville's Scholar-Athlete Award as a senior. 

In 1976, Guyll became Millersville's first NCAA champion, and he finished his career as a three-time All-American. He also placed at the PSAC Championships four times and was inducted into the Millersville Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016. 

Presley is Millersville's only two-time NCAA champion, winning the crowns 1977 and 1978. Three times he was the PSAC runner-up at 150 pounds. He earned induction into the Millersville Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009. 

No one in Millersville history won more matches than March, who piled up 110 wins from 1979-82. He competed for parts of his career in Division III and Division I, and qualified for the NCAA Championships three times. 

Yeager is the only Marauder to win three East Region championships, qualifying for the NCAA Division I Championships three times. Yeager was also a PSAC runner-up, ending his career with 86 wins. A strong student, Yeager was a recipient of the 2004-05 PSAC Top 10 Award. 

A three-time NCAA Division I Championships qualifier and two-time East Region champ, Hostetter won 102 matches in his career. Hostetter was also named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2010 East Region Championships. He was inducted into the Millersville Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017. 

Smith set Millersville's all-time record for pins with 53 and totaled 89 victories in his career to rank in the career top 10. He was a two-time NCAA Division I Championships qualifier, two-time East Region champ and took second place at the PSAC Championships

The owner of the most bonus-point victories in Millersville history, Ruhnke piled up 97 wins, and in 2019, he was named NCAA Division II Most Dominant Wrestler, winning the national title and PSAC Championship at 157 pounds. 

Millersville's All-75th Season Team will be recognized in person on Feb. 11 as part of the Battle for the Rupp Cup versus Franklin & Marshall.
