MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Millersville University basketball team (13-4, 7-4 PSAC) took home their fourth win in a row, defeating the Mansfield Mountaineers (1-16, 0-11 PSAC) by a score of 96-69, marking the fourth game with a score of over 90 points this season.
Justin Nwosu led the Marauders in points and marked his season-high of 22 on the day; he also grabbed nine rebounds.
Khari Williams was one point behind Nwosu, adding 21 to the score and leading the team in rebounds with 11.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• Millersville had four turnovers within a four minute period in the first and Mansfield caught up and took a two-point lead with 6:47 remaining in the first. This was the last lead Mansfield would have the rest of the game. After a turnover by the Mountaineers, Nwosu hit a jumper after a pass by
Jaden Faulkner to even the score back out, 26-26. By the end of the first half, the Marauders were up 48-36.
• In the second, the Marauders held Mansfield to 31.4% shooting from the field, and 11.1% from beyond the arc.Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Millersville hit 37-of-65 shots from the field, and 7-of-19 on threes.
• Along with Nwosu and Williams, three other players hit double figures including:
Caden Najdawi,
James Sullivan, and Faulkner.
• Faulkner led the team in assists with five, following right behind him was Sullivan with four assists. Najdawi grabbed a total of eight rebound and tallied four assist on the day
NOTES
• This was Millersville's third highest scoring game this season.
• Williams collected a season-high 11 rebounds in the victory, recording his first double-double of the season.Â
• The Marauders held Mansfield to its lowest scoring total in over a month. The previous low was against No. 3 Mercyhurst on Dec. 14 when they scored 63.Â
