ABOUT THE GAME

  • Millersville's busy stretch continues with a non-conference match-up against PSAC foe Seton Hill. After Tuesday's game, Millersville will have played four games in seven days. This is the fifth of six-straight home games to open this season for Millersville.
  • Millersville opened the season ranked No. 6 in the NFHCA Division II Poll and will most certainly be moving up after the 4-0 start. Millersville is one of four undefeated teams remaining in the PSAC and leads the league in wins.
  • Seton Hill is Millersville's first PSAC opponent of the season, but it's a non-conference match-up. The two teams will play again at Seton Hill on Oct. 30.
It's been big to learn about ourselves detail-wise, give some players some experience, get them into the game in a tight match. For us, it's a great growing phase.
Shelly Behrens, Millersville head coach

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • Millersville's defense has been outstanding through four games, allowing just two goals for a league-leading 0.50 goals against average.
  • Millersville's 59 penalty corners also lead the PSAC. Kutztown ranks second with 50.
  • Bri Harsh has tallied at least one point in each of the team's four games, and her six goals are tied for the PSAC lead, and she's also tied for second in assists. Last week, Harsh tallied two goals and an assist against Frostburg State, scored the double-overtime game-winner against Limestone and assisted on the game-winner against Converse.
  • Morgan Saunders has made an impact early in her first collegiate season as well. The daughter of former Steve Saunders, an All-PSAC East defensive lineman for the Marauders (1992), has scored three goals, all of which have come on penalty corners.
  • Coach Shelly Behrens has utilized a variety of lineups already this season with 19 players start at least one game. Only six players have started all four games. A total of 16 players on the roster have already totaled 100 minutes played (25 minutes per game).

SCOUTING THE GRIFFINS

  • After starting the season with a 2-1 win over Frostburg State, Seton Hill has lost two in a row by scores of 5-0. Seton Hill has averaged just 3.3 shots per game while allowing 19.0 per game.

THE LAST TIME OUT

  • Millersville: Millersville 3, Converse 1 (Sept. 12, 2021) - Playing on tired legs after Saturday's emotional double-overtime win over Limestone, Millersville field hockey had enough in the tank to dispatch visiting Converse 3-1 Sunday afternoon. The Marauders won their fourth consecutive home game to open this season and received goals from Morgan Saunders, Kristin Strijdom and Keaghan Keracher for a 3-0 lead before Converse got on the board in the fourth quarter.
  • Seton Hill: Newbery 5, Seton Hill 0 (Sept. 5, 2021) - The Wolves defeated the Griffins by a 5-0 score to drop the Griffins record to 1-2 on the season.  Newberry jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead over the Griffins.
