ABOUT THE GAME

• Millersville women's soccer returns to action Friday night at Pucillo field for the first time since November 12, 2019, when they lost in overtime to East Stroudsburg 1-0 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) tournament. The Marauders open the 2021 season against Jefferson. This will be their lone non-conference match of the season, as they begin PSAC play on Wednesday, September 8 at Kutztown.
• Millersville is currently undefeated in home openers under head coach Matt Procopio, including a 3-0 win against Jefferson in 2017. 
• Millersville has reached the postseason in the last two seasons, including two trips to the NCAA tournament. The PSAC preseason poll, voted on by the league's coaches, placed Millersville at No. 4 in the East. Jefferson is a member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). The Rams were picked to finish at the top of the CACC in 2021, collecting nine first place votes in the preseason coaches' pole.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

• The 2019 Marauders finished 15-5-1, this included a second place finish in the PSAC East, a PSAC tournament appearance, and a trip to the NCAA tournament.
• Procopio is bringing back some familiar names from his 2019 squad that reached the second round of the NCAA tournament. Highlighting the returning players are, goalkeeper Reagan Kolinski, defenders Paige Mancini and Lauren Downey, and Morgan Winchock, who led all returning players in goals in the 2019 season with six.

• Jefferson is coming off of back-to-back CACC tournament championships, and a NCAA tournament appearance during the 2019 season.

THE LAST TIME OUT

• Millersville: Millersville 0, Bloomsburg 4 (Nov. 23, 2019) - Millersville fell to Bloomsburg in the second round of the NCAA tournament by a score of 4-0.
• Jefferson: Holy Family - The Rams capped off their 2021 season with a 2-1 CACC tournament championship victory against Holy Family. 

SERIES HISTORY

• Millersville is 4-1 all time against Jefferson, including a current three game winning streak. The Marauders won the last outing between the two schools by a score of 1-0 at Jefferson.
