
Women’s swimming places eighth at PSAC Championships

YORK, Pa. – The Millersville women's swim team earned a team total of 350 to place eighth at the PSAC Championships. The Marauders had multiple swimmers record new career-bests and record times fast enough to be placed on Millersville's top-10 times lists in multiple races.
Ilana Jacobson placed in the top-24 of the 1000-yard freestyle. Jacobson touched the wall in 11:43.57 for 21st and was the lone Marauder to compete in the race.
Amanda Simon represented the Marauders in the 200 individual medley placing 33rd with a time of 2:35.93 seconds. The senior improved her seeded time by nearly eight seconds for a new season best. She was also the only Marauder to partake in the 400 individual medley and placed in 16th. She recorded a time of 5:14.26, shaving nearly 25 seconds off her seeded time.
Four Marauders swam in the 50 free with Maddi Stoner leading the pack claiming 16th overall. Stoner's time of 25.13 placed her in ninth the top-10 times list for Millersville and marked a new career-best. Leah Miksa placed 19th in the race and touched the wall in 25.29. Coral McBride and Alexa Dolan placed 33rd and 42nd in the race, respectively. McBride recorded a time of 26.59, a new career-best. Dolan recorded a time of 28.71.
The squad of Simon, McBride, Miksa, and Rebecca Yeager took on the 200 medley relay. The group came in eighth place overall and recorded a time of 1:55.73, a second quicker than their seeded time. Miksa, McBride and Simon then joined Stoner in the 200 free relay. The squad placed eighth with a time of 1:43.52, almost two seconds faster than the seeded time.
Stoner landed another spot on the Millersville's women's swimming top-10 times list, this time joined by Yeager for the 100 butterfly. Stoner touched the wall in 59.56 for the second-fastest time in Marauder history. Yeager landed the third-fastest time in Millersville history swimming the race in 1:00.51.
Five Marauders competed in the 200 free all of whom recorded new season-best times. Yeager came in 25th with a time of 2:02.25 followed by Miksa in 30th with a time of 2:02.91. Jacobson touched the wall in 2:06.88, McBride in 2:10.33, and Alexa Dolan in 2:18.12.
Jacobson, Stoner, Yeager and Miksa took on the 400 medley relay and came in eighth place overall. The squad touched the wall in 4:13.06, nearly eight seconds faster than the seeded time.
McBride, Jacobson and Simon all competed in the 100 breaststroke. Jacobson and McBride cleared the top-24 placing 22nd (1:14.94) and 20th (1:14.54), respectively. Simon came in 26th with a time of 1:17.00.
Stoner and Yeager made the Millersville record books for their performance in the 200 butterfly. Stoner recorded a time of 2:16.67, the second-fastest time in Marauder history while Yeager touched the wall in 2:16.75, the third-fastest time in Marauder history.
Yeager and Dolan recorded new season-bests in the 100 free. Yeager touched the wall in 56.37 for 25th place and Dolan recorded a time of 1:01.68 for 35th place.
Maddi Stoner rounded out the championships with another historic swim for the Marauders. She earned the fourth spot on the Millersville top-10 times list for the 200 breaststroke touching the wall in 2:30.07.
Millersville saw its best relay performance of the championships in the 400 free relay. The squad of Miksa, Yeager, Jacobson, and Stoner took sixth with a time of 3:42.99, nearly four seconds faster than the seeded time.
The championships conclude the 2021 season for the Marauders.
