
Three Marauders get wins in dual loss to Lock Haven

GRANTHAM, Pa. - After Friday's PSAC dual against East Stroudsburg was postponed, the Millersville wrestling program sought a challenge and found one against Division I Lock Haven Saturday. Three Marauders picked up victories, but it wasn't enough in the 33-12 loss.
Millersville's dual record dropped to 1-1 while Lock Haven improved to 1-2. Millersville's three wins were the most against Lock Haven in the four matches since 2009, and it was also the most points scored against Lock Haven since 2009.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• Millersville's winners included 133-pound Devin Flannery, 174-pound Anthony Yacovetti and 285-pound Bishop McCoy, who won his bout with his second pin of the season.
• Yacovetti's 6-3 win over Tyler Stoltzfus was especially sweet, as it was Yacovetti's first match since February of 2019. He missed all of 2019-20 with injury and was a part of the lost 2020-21 season. Yacovetti led 2-1 after the first period, and the score remai ned until the third period. Yacovetti started the period in top position, and scored four nearfall points before Stoltzfus picked up reversal. Yacovetti managed to keep Stoltzfus at bay for the remainder of time.
• McCoy pinned Kaleb Snodgrass as part of a busy first period. Snodgrass scored first with a takedown, but an escape put McCoy back on his feet where he hit a takedown and finished it off with a pin. The win improved McCoy to 10-5.
• Flannery won by an 8-5 score over Gable Strickland. Flannery started quickly, building a 4-1 lead through three minutes.
