
Bishop and Connor win pools at Journeymen Classic

MANHEIM, Pa. - Bishop McCoy and Brandon Connor went undefeated on the day and won their pools at Saturday's Journeymen Classic held at Spooky Nook.
McCoy, wrestling at 285 pounds, and Connor, wrestling at 165, both went 3-0. Each weight class was broken out into pools comprising of four wrestlers who would compete in a round robin format. Along with McCoy and Connor, Bryce Beatty placed third in his 125-pound pool, as did Guy Deleonardis at 165 pounds and Tim Uhler at 141 pounds.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
• McCoy improved his season record to 7-2 with his efforts on Saturday. He won his first two bouts in convincing fashion, picking up a fall in 4:42 and a 15-4 major decision. He capped his day with a 3-2 decision over Josh Evans of VMI.
• Connor also ran his record to 7-2, notching a 9-3 win and a 10-3 win before edging Doak Dean of Harvard, 4-3.
• Also at 165 pounds was Deleonardis, who went 2-1 in a different pool. He scored a 4-0 win in his first match before dropping a fall to eventual winner Michael Kistler. Deleonardis then posted a 20-2 tech fall on Sacred Heart's Aladeen Hussein.
• Beatty's day included a fall in 2:40 and a 10-6 win over Sacred Heart's Jacob Ice for third place.
• Uhler, seeing his first action of the season, scored a quick 42-second fall in his debut match before narrowly dropping a 3-1 decision in sudden victory. Uhler closed his day with a convincing 7-0 decision over Tal-reese Fleming of Bloomsburg.
