SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The fourth-ranked Millersville field hockey team bounced back from its first loss of the season by blanking Slippery Rock 6-0 Saturday on the road.
Millersville scored three goals in the first quarter and received six goals from six different players.
Millersville improved to 9-1 overall and 2-1 in PSAC play with the win while Slippery Rock dropped to 3-6 (0-3 PSAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED

Kate Strickland got the Marauders started just 1:07 into the game, scoring on an assist from Piil Zaballa. It was Strickland's seventh goal of the season.
Morgan Saunders tallied her fifth of the season just 3:14 later off an assist from
Bri Harsh. Eight minutes later,
Sol Ortiz-Kreiner found the back of the cage for the first time in 2021 for a 3-0 Millersville lead.
• Just over two minutes into the second quarter,
Ashlynn Lennon scored her first career goal off an assist from
Keaghan Keracher. Millersville's 4-0 halftime lead was built on nine shots and an 8-2 advantage in penalty corners through the first 30 minutes.

Hannah Brown connected with
Kayla Michaels 2:44 into the third quarter to extend the lead. The goal was Michaels' fifth of the season. Harsh added Millersville's sixth goal and her 10th of the season on an assist from Lennon at the 50:10 mark of the game.
