MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Millersville University alumna Chelsey Wirth '15 has joined the Marauders in a newly-created role responsible for athletics fundraising and revenue generation.
Included in Wirth's responsibilities are cultivating and fulfilling corporate sponsorships, working with outside groups for athletic facility rentals, collaborating with the development office to engage alumni and solicit donors, coordinating Black & Gold Club initiatives and hosting special events.
"Our department took another step forward today," said Gallagher. "This is a new position that we identified as being critical to enhance our fundraising efforts to raise more revenues for our teams to be successful. I want to thank Dr. Daniel Wubah and Brian Hazlett for understanding the value of the position and giving us the tools to provide a championship experience for our student-athletes."
Wirth comes to Millersville after serving as the coordinator of fundraising for StoneRidge Retirement Living Communities in Myerstown, Pa. In that role, Wirth maintained a portfolio of more than 200 donors while also created the organization's first golf tournament fundraising event which raised more than $33,000. Wirth also previously served as marketing coordinator for Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership, director of development for Youth Education in the Arts and as advancement and giving specialist for Penn State Health.
Wirth graduated from Millersville in 2015 with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology and psychology. She also completed a master's degree in public health from the Penn State College of Medicine in 2020.
"We are very excited to have Chelsea join our team," said Gallagher. "She's an alumni who is passionate about helping our students through philanthropy. What was clear from the beginning is that her values align with the University and department, and she had the skill set to be successful in the position. We can't wait for her to get started."
