ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Millersville University men's tennis team (2-0) completed a weekend sweep Sunday afternoon, defeating Roberts Wesleyan College, 7-0.
It was the Marauders' second win in as many days. Millersville opened the season on Saturday was a 6-1 victory at Daemen College.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• It was a strong day from the sophomores.
Frank Yanni and
Rodrigo Lorencin opened up the match with a stellar performance in flight two doubles, taking the set, 6-0. Yanni and Lorencin, playing in flight two and flight fur singles, respectively, also knotted the first two victories in singles action. Both players won in straight sets.
• One day after not factoring into the match, the flight three doubles duo of
Santiago Ramos and
Jose Alcazar snagged their first victory of the season to claim the point in doubles action, winning 6-1.

Carlos Martinez-Lucas was pushed again in flight ne singles and doubles, but prevailed. The 2018-19 PSAC Athlete of the Year paired up with
Ben Fellman and wn in doubles, 6-4. In singles action, Martinez-Lucas remained undefeated with a straight sets victory against freshman Benjamin Davis, 6-4, 6-3.
• The Marauders did not have a player drop a set in the match.

"The men looked sharp today," head coach
Matt Helsel said. "They had a good weekend. They know it's a long season but this was a strong start."
NOTES
• The men's team, just like the women's team, defeated Roberts Wesleyan for the first time in program history. Going into the day, the Mauraders were 0-3 against the Redhawks.
• The Marauders open the season 2-0 for the first time since 2010-11.

Jose Alcazar, the lone senior in Millersville's program, picked up his first wins of the season. A transfer from Brescia University in 2017, Alcazar picked up his eighth career victory in regular-season singles action.

• The Marauders return for their home debut at McComsey Courts on Sept. 14 for a matchup against Frostburg State.
