MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -  The Millersville Marauders and No. 17 West Chester Golden Rams meet for the first time since last season's PSAC championship game this coming Saturday, Sept. 28 at 5:30 p.m. Millersville claimed the PSAC championship after a 4-2 decision in penalty kicks following two overtimes and a 1-1 draw.

In 2019 both teams are 2-0 in PSAC play and tied for first place in the PSAC Eastern Division. This is the first of two meetings in the regular season for the squads. The second will be at West Chester on Saturday, Oct. 26th.

Both teams have had common opponents in 2019: both have lost to No. 18 Wilmington University and defeated Lock Haven University.

ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
  • Jacob Gosselin continues to score goals at an impressive rate. His team-leading five goals is also tied for the most in the entire PSAC with Mercyhurst's Connor Wilkinson and Slippery Rock's Abdallah Bangura. Those three players are also tied for the conference lead in total points with 11.
  • PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week Nathan Maynard leads the team in minutes played with a total of 569 in just six games. Ethan Woods and Mike Kreider are just behind with 549 minutes each.
  • Millersville has scored at least one goal in every game they have played.

LAST YEAR'S CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
  • Colin Muller struck first to put the Golden Rams in front in the 36th minute.
  • Jaxson Burns equalized the game with just 12 minutes to go, smashing in a shot from the top of the box to make it 1-1.
  • The game stayed 1-1 through two overtimes and was decided in penalty kicks. Each Marauder shooter (Chase Flickinger, Nathan Maynard, Anthony Calamia and Jaxson Burns) converted their PK to claim the program's first championship since 2011.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
  • The Golden Rams have won four games in a row and outscored opponents 6-1 during that stretch.
  • Colin Muller's four total assists for the season ranks him second in the entire PSAC.
  • Golden Rams goalkeeper Daniel Good has three shutouts to his credit in 2019 and is second in the conference in goals against average (.802 per game.)
