• Mock made his first appearance since Feb. 28 and pitched a perfect seventh with one strikeout.
GAME 2 RECAP (MILLERSVILLE 1, MANSFIELD 0 (8 INN.)
• With the game-winning run at second base in the bottom of the eighth, Millersville had the right man at the plate. The team's RBI leader and fifth-year senior
Ben Snyder hit the first offering from reliever Joseph DePerno over the head of the right fielder for a walk-off double.
Kaylor Kulina, who had led off the inning with a single and reached second on a wild pitch, scored without a play at the plate.
• Millersville starter
Drew Miller and Mansfield starter Hunter DePrimo dueled into extra innings. DePrimo exited after giving up four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in seven innings. Miller pitched into the eighth, lasting 7 2/3 innings, allowing four hits without a walk and totaling five strikeouts. In the eighth, Mansfield leadoff hitter Brittain Shander hit a two-out double to right.
Tyler Yankosky came out of the pen and ended the threat with a strikeout.
• Millersville got the leadoff batter on base and to third base in the second, fourth, sixth and seventh innings. The team's six hits came from five batters. Kulina, who entered in the sixth as a pinch hitter, had two hits in addition to scoring the game-winning run.
WHAT COACH JON SHEHAN HAD TO SAY
• "Eli's breaking ball was effective. He got a lot of ground balls and weak contact. He didn't get as many swings and misses as I thought he would, and that's something he can work on for the next outing. Overall, he was efficient, he threw strikes, and he could have gone seven but it was really good to get Mock in there and given him an outing."
• "Miller worked both sides of the plate with his fastball which is an improvement from last week. This week, you add in a fastball inside to a righty and two breaking balls and a change-up, that's the kid we've been waiting on all season. It was a mature outing. He went out and attacked."
• "
Jimmy Cain is healthy finally. He hyper extended his elbow early in the season, and he just didn't have any bat speed. He's healthy, confident, swinging at good pitches, and it's fun to see him hit right now."
• "Snyder is our guy. He's not going to try to do too much. He went [opposite field] in that situation, and we were having success that way today. I am really happy he came through because he didn't have a great day.But mature guys do that. They are going to forget about the first four, five, six plate appearances of the day and put a good AB together."
