COACH SHELLY BEHRENS QUOTES
• "Every day is special and has been special with our seniors this year. Every home game, every away game, every practice. We've had amazing teams here, amazing connectivity and chemistry and just amazing kids. This group is no different. It's been fun every day. We really focus on senior day how we have all along, business as usual, but there certainly can be some emotion. There's been a lot of emotion, as late, for us in October. It's just about recognizing and honoring their time here. It's about them and about their selflessness during their time here. We want to thank them and recognize them and their families."
• "I've said it since day one, it's about overcoming. Overcome is different for different perspectives. It's overcoming the things you need to in your personal life, your athletic life, your academic life and just finding our way together. We found our way together. It's been a lot of fun. I couldn't be more proud of them. I shared with them, if you're not enough without winning, you'll never be enough with it. Winning will never give you or satisfy something in you as a person, as an athlete or as a coach. That's the advice I give them all the time. I'm always proud of their efforts and their ability to compete regardless of what the scoreboard says. I don't think you can really say enough, unless you've been in the trenches with us, to see how they've overcome and see their heart, passion, fortitude and strength. I've got to see it up close and I know these young women will leave here and they can do anything."
