MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Millersville men's soccer team is the only remaining unbeaten PSAC team in conference play and puts that record on the line Wednesday night as they host Shippensburg University. The two teams met previously this season back on Sept. 21st at Shippensburg in a dramatic two-overtime game.
Jacob Gosselin scored the golden goal for Millersville with one second left in the second OT to give the Marauders the victory.
Wednesday's contest is the final game in a four-game homestand for Millersville. They won the first two matches against Bloomsburg and Lock Haven by a combined total of 7-2 but dropped a 2-0 match to No. 2 Adelphi on Saturday. The Marauders travel to No. 23 West Chester on Saturday to play on the road for the first time since Oct. 9.
ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
- Jacob Gosselin continues to be one of the PSAC leaders in offensive statistics. He has scored at least one goal in three of the last four games and has totaled nine for the season, tied for second-most in the conference. Gosselin is third in the conference in total points with 22, just four behind Lock Haven's Andrea DiSomma for the PSAC lead.
- Nine different Marauders have scored at least one goal in 2019. Freshman Frank Astarita is second on the team with three, while Nathan Maynard, Bob Hennessey and Anthony Calamia have all scored twice.
- Three Marauders--Nathan Maynard, Ethan Woods and Mike Kreider--have been on the field for nearly 1200 minutes each. The next highest is Bob Hennessey with 864 minutes played.
