Field hockey earns NFHCA academic honors

Gilbert, Arizona - The Millersville field hockey team was recognized by Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Thursday as one of 27 Division II programs to earn the NFHCA Division II National Academic Team Award. Additionally, 14 Marauders landed on the National Academic Squad while Ginger Bradbury and Autumn Peters were named Scholars of Distinction.
The NFHCA recognizes teams that earn a team GPA of 3.30 or higher during the fall semester of the academic year. This is the 10th consecutive year under Coach Shelly Behrens the team has been recognized as a National Academic Team.
The Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad was also announced, with 14 Marauders making the list. Members of the National Academic Squad must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher in the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year. Millersville was represented by: Aliza Mizak, Emma Boutcher, Ginger Bradbury, Kyra Brakefield, Meredith Fagan, Maci Langone, Natalie Pinder, Rebecca Proulx, Annabelle Tierney, Brooke Troutman, Courtney Weaver, Mallory Wolf, and Moriah Woods. Weaver made the National Academic Squad for the fourth consecutive year.
Bradbury and Peters, both freshmen, were two of 66 student-athletes in Division II to earn a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher in the 2017-18 academic year.
