Wilmington, Del. -- Junior Chase Flickinger netted the walk-off goal for the Marauders in Saturday's 2-1, double overtime victory over Bloomfield College.

Millersville took control early as freshman Matteo Adiletta blasted Flickinger's pass from the right side into the back of the net in the eighth minute. The Marauders stayed aggressive in the first half and earned seven shots along with five corner kicks. The score held and the Marauders entered the dressing room leading 1-0.

Bloomfield equalized in the second half, firing a low shot past the Marauder defense in the 53rd minute and tied the game. Bloomsfield took the role of the aggressors in the second half and recorded three more shots than Millersville. Freshman McClain Smith tried to end the game late, but his shot went wide to the right in the 86th minute. Bloomfield mustered one last attempt in the 89th minute that missed the target, and the teams ended regulation tied 1-1.

The teams traded attempts at the beginning of the first overtime before Flickinger shot for the far post in the 96th minute and converted his attempt into Millersville's first win of the 2017 season.

Flickinger led the team with three shots on goal while Adiletta finished second with two on goal. Sophomore Darian McCauley was active in goal and faced down 11 shots including six shots on goal.

The Marauders, now 1-0-1, return home to open their season at Pucillo Field on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. against non-conference opponent Felician University.
