
Fusco breaks another school record while Millersville finishes 10th in the PSAC Championships

York, Pennsylvania -- Junior Emily Fusco broke her school record in the 200-yard backstroke at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Swimming Championships Sunday while the Millersville swim team finished 10th overall in the conference championship.
The team scored 308 points to finish in the top-10 for the fifth year in a row while eclipsing last year's point total of 175 points.
Fusco broke two of her school records and tied another school record during her historic run this weekend. In the 200-yard backstroke, she finished seventh in the preliminaries with a time of 2:06.57. In the finals, she improved her finish to fifth with the new school record of 2:05.14. In the same event, freshman Madisson Cartmill finished ninth with a new personal best time of 2:06.11 which was almost a half second faster than Fusco's previous school record.
Jessica Berry set a new personal best in the 1,650-yard freestyle event while finishing 24th. The freshman finished in 18:54.38, toppling her personal best by almost 30 seconds.
Rachel Malampy set a new personal best in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.73. The senior beat her personal best by a half second. In the 100-yard freestyle preliminary event, freshman Mallory Dyson set a new best with a time of 54.71. In that same preliminary, senior Lizzie Ebert finished with a time of 55.65 which was almost four seconds faster than her previous best.
Millersville's final event was the 400-yard freestyle relay where the team took 10th. The relay team of Dyson, Fusco, Ebert, and Malampy finished with a time of 3:40.06 which was more than two seconds better than their seed time.
