ESU challenged but hold off Marauders 27-18

East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania - The Marauders fought hard on Friday in East Stroudsburg, but they were downed by the ESU Warriors, 27-18.

Seth Decker had the most impressive performance of the night for the Marauders, dominating his opponent in the 157-pound weight class. Decker won an 8-2 decision.

In the 125-pound weight class, Connor Sheehan pulled out a win. In a closely contested showdown, Sheehan escaped with a 9-8 victory, putting Millersville on top 3-0 at the time.

197-pound class Colton Dull and 165-pound class Shane Ruhnke picked up wins by forfeit.

Zachary Yackenchick almost ended the night with a win for Millersville, but fell 7-6 to Brandon Steele in the 285-pound weight class. Aaron Wildonger suffered a similar fate, falling to Connor Maliff 7-5 in the 133-pound weight class.

The loss drops Millersville to 2-7 with a 1-6 conference record. The Marauders' next contest comes on Feb. 16 at home in the Battle for the Rupp Cup against Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. at 7 p.m.
