GAME OVERVIEW
• Millersville dropped their second straight away Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference game at West Chester Wednesday.
• WCU scored three early goals to put the game out of reach despite a furious rally from the Marauders. Freshman Nathan Maynard scored his first goal of the season to cut the WCU's lead to two at halftime. Senior Marcus Frangakis scored a penalty kick to bring the Marauders within one. However, Millersville could not equalize late in the second half.
• No. 11 Millersville currently ranks sixth in the PSAC behind No. 21 Mercyhurst. Millersville is a perfect 3-0 at Pucillo Field and already have one win over a ranked opponent this season.

ABOUT THE SERIES
• Mercyhurst has dominated the series with a 9-4 record over Millersville. The teams have played five times since 2013 and the Lakers won them all with a six goal differential.

THE LAST MEETING: 2016 PSAC Championship Mercyhurst 2, Millersville 1 (Nov. 6, 2016)
• Mercyhurst scored a penalty kick in the 5th minute after Millersville was called for a handball in the box. The Lakers scored early again to start the second half with a goal in the 52nd minute. Devin Rediker responded two minutes later by chipping a through ball from the midfield over the keeper's head. Millersville ratcheted up the pressure to try and earn the equalizer late in the second half, but the Lakers held on to win the PSAC Championship.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Mercyhurst was picked to finish first in the PSAC with eight first place votes during the preseason. The Lakers earned their first national ranking of the 2017 season this week when the US Soccer Coaches Poll ranked them 21st.
• Mercyhurst are 3-1 in PSAC play with an inflated 13 goal differential after beating Pitt-Johnstown 13-1. The Lakers's most recent game was an out-of-conference match up at Le Moyne College. Le Moyne built a two goal lead before halftime and then exploded and tallied five more goals during the second half.
• The Millersville defense will need to lock down on Mercyhurst's Hady Sarr. Sarr won PSAC Athlete of the Week after his five goal performance against UPJ, and he leads the team with nine goals scored.
• Midfielders Christopher Makengo and Fjodor van Kippersluis are two other players guaranteed to warrant attention from Millersville's back line. The pair have combined for 36 points on the season.
