West Chester, Pennsylvania - Millersville and West Chester battled to a scoreless draw Tuesday.
Nathan Delgado,
Tanner Brenize and
Ryan Phelps all had shots on goal, but none could find the back of the net. Millersville registered 12 shots but just three were on goal. Defensively, the Marauders were strong only allowing one shot to reach
Darian McCauley.
Millersville threatened early when
Nathan Delgado worked his way free and placed a shot on frame that was saved by James Wood. West Chester would counter when Miguel Ross forced McCauley to grab his lone save of the game. Both sides would earn corner kicks, but neither could convert as the teams went into the break tied at zero.
The Golden Rams nearly got on the board in the 50th when Tim French sent a header just wide of the net. The Marauders began to control the the pace of the game as
Marcus Frangakis registered a pair of shots and Millersville got three corner kicks, but all were turned away by West Chester. Millersville had a couple of late chances, but the two sides ended regulation scoreless.
The Marauders came out looking to strike in the first overtime, earning a corner kick. Off the corner,
Jaxson Burns sent a shot just wide. In the second ovetime, Millersville would have another chance off a corner when
Ryan Phelps fired a shot that was grabbed by Wood. In the last minute of the game,
Devin Rediker found space and ripped a shot just high and the game ended in a draw.
Millersville's record now stands at 5-2-2 (3-1-2 PSAC) returns home Thursday to face Caldwell at 6 p.m.
