Millersville, Pa. – The women's soccer team nursed a 2-1 lead deep into the second half, but the Bloomsburg Huskies scored the equalizer at the 89:26 mark. Then, in double overtime, Jenna Fisher of the Huskies blasted a rebound opportunity past

Bloomsburg (1-1, 1-1 PSAC) edged the Marauders in first half shots, 11-5. However, the visiting team was only able to find the back of the net once in the first 45 minutes. At the 18:20 mark, Jenna Fisher whipped in a cross that found the right foot of Ashley Sanchez who slid the ball past the outstretched arms of
Samantha Wolfe.
The Marauders (0-2, 0-2 PSAC), who have lost in overtime in each of the first two games, scored each of their goals during the second half. Millersville opened the period with a flurry of shots, but BU keeper Devon Haviland held her ground making three consecutive saves. Millersville finally found its breakthrough in the 68th minute.
On the counter attack, Megan Newmister flicked a pass to an unmarked
Halie Parker who back healed the shot into the back of the net.
Less than five minutes later,
Kristin Lepley floated a pass to
Victoria Kramer who used her speed to gain a one-on-one opportunity with the keeper and responded with a whistling shot past Devon Haviland.
The Black & Gold held on to its 2-1 lead deep into the 89th minute, but Ashley Sanchez ripped a shot well out of the 18-yard box that dipped under the crossbar tying the match at two goals apiece.
Samantha Wolfe faced 22 shots in Millersville's goal and saved 10 of them. Millersville finished with 17 shots, nine of which were placed on net.
The Marauders will embark on a two-game road trip next week where they will square off against Slippery Rock (Sept. 11) and Edinboro (Sept. 12) before returning to Pucillo Field on Sept. 15 for a match against East Stroudsburg. Kickoff for the Slippery Rock game is slated for 1 p.m.
