Millersville, Pa. -Â In a game suspended from April 7 because of weather, Kutztown led the Millersville softball team 1-0 in the bottom of the third when the game was postponed and that's how the game ended as the Golden Bears won to take three of four in the season series.
The Marauders (19-22, 9-15 PSAC East) have lost three straight and fallen three games out of fourth place in the Eastern Division while Kutztown (29-13, 15-9 PSAC East) has won two straight and maintained its hold on the No. 3 spot in the East.
Starter
Brianna Andraos (10-10) gave the Marauders just about all they could ask for as she threw six innings with one earned run given up on three hits to go with two walks and three strikeouts. The lone run she gave up was scored by the Golden Bears in the bottom of the third when Sam Fraser scored on Rachel Lawes base knock to second base.
Millersville tallied just two hits on the game, one apiece from
Gabbie Berry and
Stephanie Kulp. Those two hits came against Kutztown's Dominique Ficara who was dominant in the circle with the complete game shutout, just the two hits surrendered as well as three free passes and five punchouts.
The Marauders will travel to Bloomsburg on Friday with first pitch of the twinbill set for 2:30 p.m.
