GAME OVERVIEW• The Millersville women's soccer team welcomes Seton Hill to town on Homecoming weekend. The Marauders are coming off their best offensive performance of the year as it shutout Lincoln, 12-0.
• The 12-0 thumping of the Lions marked the largest margin of victory in program history.
Stacie Hallinan and
Halie Parker each netted a hat-trick for the Marauders as their names are now cemented in the record books tying for the most goals in a game in club history.
Madison Kieffer,
Victoria Kramer,
Alexandrea Powell,
Meagan Newmister,
Elizabeth Waite and Hannah Willet also found the back of the net for the Black & Gold. For the match, the Marauders fired 50 shots compared to Lincoln's five attempts. Goalkeeper
Samantha Wolfe was hardly tested as she earned her fourth shutout of the year.
• Millersville has tallied 31 goals on 211 shots and has given up 23 goals on 211 shots.
Matt Procopio's squad has been the least penalized team in the PSAC as the Marauders have only been shown two yellow cards.
•
Halie Parker leads the team with 12 goals and 27 points. Parker has definitely made her case for earning post season in-conference accolades as her 27 points is the second best mark in the PSAC. Parker is also second in points per game (1.93), second in goals (12) and seventh in shot attempts (41).
THE LAST MEETING (SETON HILL 0, MILLERSVILLE 0 - OCT. 31, 2014)• Last season, the Marauders entered the PSAC matchup with a 8-5-2 overall record and 7-6-2 PSAC record as both teams were unable to beat the opposing goalkeepers. For Millersville,
Olivia Webber turned in an outstanding performance stopping and saving eight Seton Hill shot attempts. The Marauders fired 14 shots on the Griffins with eight of them on target. In the second minute of play, the Black & Gold nearly got on the board when
Victoria Kramer fired a shot on frame that sailed inches above the crossbar. In the second overtime period it took an acrobatic save by Griffin goalkeeper Carolin Edenhofner to save the tie. It was
Victoria Kramer again firing a dangerous shot attempt 45 seconds into the period, but the shot dipped right into Edenhofner's arms.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT• Emily LoPresti is the leading goal scorer for the Griffins as she has netted eight goals on the season. The freshman forward has had a knack for finding the back of the net since high school; Dating back to 2011, LoPresti has scored over 200 goals in high school and club soccer. Seton Hill has used two different keepers in 2015 as Carolin Edenhofner and Jessica Neill have both seen substantial minutes between the pipes. Edenhofner has recorded 60 saves on the year although Neill has the better goals against average (1.75).
• Seton Hill dropped a 2-1 overtime decision at IUP in its most recent match. IUP scored in the first half and SHU answered in the second half to send the game into overtime. IUP scored 7:56 into the overtime period that sealed the 2-1 victory over the Griffins. Seton Hill was able to tie the score on their first shot of the second half. Emma Porteous scored off a cross from Breanna Novosel. The Griffins travel to Millersville sporting a 6-8-1 overall record and 4-8-1 mark within the PSAC.
