Brookville N.Y. -Â The Millersville men's soccer team traveled to Brooksville, N.Y. to square off against LIU Post. The Pioneers were able to score a 3-0 victory over the Marauders Wednsday afternoon. With the loss LIU post improved to 3-2-1 overall on the season while Millersville fell to 1-2-1.

For the game LIU was able to constantly pepper the net, keeping goalkeeper
David Brubaker busy all afternoon. As a team the Pioneers fired a total of 27 shots throughout the game. Out of those attempted shots 14 of the 27 were on-target. Meanwhile the Marauders were only able to attempt seven shots all game with six of them on net. Freshman forward
Jesse Zimmerman was able to have the most success as he fired two shots for Millersville. Brubaker was able to corral his most saves on the season, as he finished with nine.

The Pioneers were first able to get on the board 23 minutes in when Tom Bowen fired a shot towards net on a free kick that trickled past Brubaker. The Marauders were able to play good team defense as they kept the score 1-0 going into the half-time break. But LIU Post was able to breakthrough for it's second goal five minutes into the second half when Per Forgaard slid a ball inside the box to Jason Lampkin who finished top corner of the net.Â

At the 71:21 mark the Pioneers added an insurance goal as Dale McDonald and Martias Ruiz used their speed to get past the Millersville defense, with McDonald converting on the third tally of the day for LIU Post.Â

The Marauders will return to action this Saturday when they battle the 3-1-1 District of Columbia Fire birds at Pucillo Field. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m.Â
