
Shannon Places Sixth at PSAC Championships

Bloomsburg, Pa. - Freshman Ian Shannon placed sixth at 165 pounds at Saturday's PSAC Wresting Championships, highlighting Millersville's performance.
As a team, Millersville finished in 12th place with nine points. Shannon won his first bout over East Stroudsburg's Joey Fogle by a 9-4 score. He was knocked into the consolation bracket by eventual runner-up Aaron McKinney of Lock Haven. Shannon picked up one more decision in the consolation bracket before dropping his final two matches, including a 2-0 decision in the fifth-place bout to Tyler Reinhart of Pitt-Johnstown.
Freshman Jordan Wertz, at 285, was the only other Marauder to score a win. He won a 7-0 decision over Seton Hill's Mike Gladstone in the consolation bracket.
Edinboro won its fourth consecutive team championship with 189.5 points.
Millersville travels to Springfield, Mass., to take on American International in a dual.
