Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls 1-0 to Seton Hill

Greensburg, Pa. - The Millersville men's soccer team traveled to Seton Hill and fell 1-0 to the Griffins in a very physical affair Friday afternoon. For just the fifth time this season the Marauders weren't able to find the back of the net and were shut out. The loss drops Millersville to 5-11-1 overall and 4-6 in PSAC action.

The Marauders dominated the first 20 minutes of action as they produced four dangerous scoring attempts. The most promising occurred in the 8th minute when midfielder Christopher Sosa fired a shot that dipped into the belly of Griffin keeper Cameron Evans.

Neither team was able to put a shot into the back of the net as the score remained 0-0 into the halftime break.

Millersville again had a very advantageous effort occur in the beginning of the second period. Junior midfielder Jaime Vazquez swung a corner kick attempt through the Griffins box that connected with the head of Johnathan Quesada who shot it on goal frame. But once again Seton Hill keeper Cameron Evans was there to save a quality chance.

The first and only goal occurred at the 64:27 mark when Joe Tchimou recorded his fourth goal of the season. The game winner was set up thanks to a corner kick attempt by Joe Smith who found Tchimou, who headed the ball past goal keeper Kohl Orner.

Millersville is currently tied for the eigth place in the PSAC standings with only six teams making the tournament field. The Marauders are tied with California (Pa.), Shippensburg and Lock Haven and trailing sixth-place Gannon by one point. The first five spots in the playoffs are clinched. For the Marauders to qualify, they need to beat Pitt-Johnstown and have Gannon lose or tie and California (Pa.) to lose or tie in the season finale.

The Marauders close regular season action tomorrow when they travel to Pitt-Johnstown. The Mountain Cats are currently 0-10 in PSAC action, and kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
