
Wrestlers Return to Action at F&M Open

Lancaster, Pa. - After a month away from the mats, the Millersville wrestling team returned to action on Saturday at the Franklin & Marshall Open in nearby Lancaster, Pa.
A number of Marauders won multiple of matches, starting at 133 pounds with Kyle Loeb. He started his day with a 2-0 decision over Army's Christian Doyle. In consolation bracket, he scored an 11-3 major decision and advanced with a medical forfeit before being pinned by York's Ryan Flynn.
141-pound David Charles opened with a 12-3 major decision over George Mason's Anthony Calvano. Charles picked up a 9-0 major decision in the consolation bracket over Pitt-Johnstown's Craig Dawson.
Zac Wawrzyniak-Bush, wrestling at 157 pounds, dropped his opening match but notched two wins in the consolation bracket. He edged Navy's Dustin Fuller 6-4 in sudden victory, and then scored the quickest pin of his career, needing just 36 seconds to defeat Messiah's Josh Toal. Wawrzyniak-Bush was eliminated in a 7-3 decision against Navy's William Fox.
At 165 pounds, Zac Pincus picked up a trio of consolation bracket decisions. He topped Pitt-Johnstown's John Blankenship, 6-3, Drexel's Will Long by a 6-1 score and Navy's Max Smith, 6-4.
Shane Gilmore, wrestling at 184 pounds, opened with a 6-4 win over Penn State's Dylan Dailey before falling into the consolation bracket and being eliminated. 197-pound Aram Moffitt won two consolation bracket matches including one by fall (3:46) against teammate Ryan Nielsen.
Millersville makes its home debut on Tuesday, Jan. 7 against Seton Hill at 7 p.m.
