Marauder Grapplers Top Lycoming

Williamsport, Pa. - On the strength of six decisions, the Millersville wrestling team scored its third dual win of the season Saturday by defeating Lycoming, 18-15.
Millersville (3-9) won five of the first six matches contested, and heavyweight Brad Ladd closed out the evening with his team-leading 16th win.
At 125 pounds, freshman Sam Oberlander notched his 10th win and sixth dual victory by defeating Cody Barbiche, 6-3. Kyle Loeb followed at 133 pounds with a 4-0 decision, which gave him his first dual win. Brock Thompson scored a 4-2 decision at the 149 pounds, improving his record to 11-8. Zac Wawrzyniak-Bush scored the most points of any Marauder in any match on the day in his 9-4 win over Brian Watkins at 157 pounds. The win was his 14th of the season.
165-pound Zach Pincus needed extra time to edge Greg Wetzel. The match went into the first tiebreaker, and Pincus was able to break the 1-1 tie with an escape.
Ladd controlled his heavyweight match against Maxwell Lamport, surrendering just one point in a 3-1 decision. Ladd ran his dual record to an impressive 9-3.
Millersville hosts local rival Franklin & Marshall on Feb. 15 for the regular season ending Battle for the Rupp Cup, which is named in honor of the late Dr. Ted Rupp. Rupp was a graduate of F&M, started the wrestling program at Millersville and coached it to its two PSAC Championships. Match time is 7 p.m.
