Kohler Only Marauder in Action at Day One of Metrics

Millersville, Pa. – Friday, Millersville hosted the first day of its annual Millersville Metrics & Combined Events and the team had just one athlete in the first day of competition.
Day one saw just the start of the women's heptathlon and the men's decathlon. The Marauders' lone representative was Zach Kohler, who competed in the first five events of the men's decathlon.
Kohler's first event placed him second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.78 seconds, just eight-hundredths of a second behind the leader. The second event of the day for the senior was the long jump, in which Kohler placed third with a distance of 6.21 meters.
Third was the shot put, where Kohler placed fourth, with a heave of 10.46 meters. The Green Lane native's best place of the day was in the fourth event, the high jump. Kohler topped the field with a leap of 1.95 meters. In his fifth and final event of the first day, Kohler took third in the 400-meter dash, clocking a time of 53.52 seconds.
The two-day Metrics wraps up tomorrow, and many more Marauder athletes will be in action on the track at Biemesderfer Stadium.
