
Six Marauders Qualify for PSACs at Day One of Bison Classic

Lewisburg, Pa. – Saturday night, the Marauders took to the track at Bucknell University for the Bison Outdoor Classic. Out of 12 total competitors, Millersville landed six PSAC qualifiers on day one and all six had personal-best times.
Megan Meyer won her heat in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:52.58, giving herself a spot at the PSAC Outdoor Championships. Her time was the fastest by a Marauder in the event this season and topped her own season-best by just over 14 seconds.
Also qualifying for the PSAC Championships on the women's side was Sarah Mulvey. Mulvey made the cut in the 5,000-meter run. Her time of 18:52.59 is the second fastest by a Millersville women's runner this season.
Four members of the men's team qualified for the PSAC Championships as well. Kevin DiFlorio, running in the 1,500-meter, grabbed a spot at the conference championships with a time of 4:02.76. The rest of the team's qualifiers came in the 5,000-meter run. Connor Veres (15:23), Zach Mains (15:26) and Bradley Slaughter (15:28) all recorded the best times of their careers while ensuring themselves a spot at the PSAC Championships.
Also competing for Millersville in Saturday's events were Tristan Conrad in javelin. His best throw of 46.31 meters placed him 19th. Three long jumpers for the women were in action as Whitney Savoy (4.92), Jessica Fritsche (4.91) and Mercedes Ortiz (4.81) placed 21st, 23rd and 26th, respectively. Both the men and women had one more runner each in the 5,000-meter. Michelle Blum (19:11.56) and Chris Brandt (time not available) ran for the women and the men.
Day two of the Bison Outdoor Classic is Sunday. Most of the events are sprints, relays, hurdles and throws. All the action can be followed live right here.
