Millersville, Pa. - The PSAC men's cross country preseason poll was released Tuesday, and the Millersville men's team was picked exactly where it finished last year--seventh place out of 15 teams.
The Marauders look to improve upon their standing in the PSAC by bringing in new talent to complement an extremely veteran team. This team has plans to finish higher than last year when it placed seventh as a team in the PSAC Championship.
The team will again be led by James McBride and has quality runners returning in seniors Michael Parker and Andrew Musselman, junior Connor Veres and sophomores Seth Hibbs and Chris Brandt. The team returns a total 12 runners that can contribute.
McBride looks to build on a sophomore season that saw him win two meets and post five top-12 finishes in seven total races. He also placed 23rd in the PSAC Championships and 21st in the NCAA Atlantic Regional.
Andy Young is returning as the head coach for his sixth season at the helm of the Marauders' ship. He will split duties and coach the women's team as well.
Millersville is in pursuit of first-place Edinboro, who took the top spot from Shippensburg, which finished No. 1 just a year ago. Shippensburg's preseason position is in a second-place tie with Lock Haven following Edinboro.
The Marauders will begin their season again with the Marauder Alumni Open on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Millersville Borough Freedom Park at 10 a.m.PSAC Preseason Poll
